The cooperation between the International Festival of Children’s Theatres and the Puppet Theatre “Kover Bela” from Szeged started on 1st May 2010 through the project CUL-TOUR within the Hungary-Serbia IPA Cross-border Cooperation Programme (Measure 2.2.2. People to people).

The project’s objective was to encourage interregional as well as international cooperation in the field of theatre for children, strengthening trans-cultural circulation of pieces of art, and interaction between the citizens of the cross-border region to awake the feeling of fellowship, to enrich cultural content and social life as well as to create new possibilities for exchange.

The project is planned to be implemented in 13 months and in that period to include the 17th (from 16th till 22nd May 2010) and the 18th (from 15th till 21st May 2011) International Festival of Children’s Theatres in Subotica. During the festival reprises of the programme are planned in Szeged, as well as guest performances from Szeged on the festival. In the second trimester there will be guest performances, while in the beginning of 2011 there will be exhibitions, round table discussions, puppet workshops for children and theatre professionals.
