The educational lectures with the aim to promote the concept of entrepreneurship were organized by the Open University Subotica, the Local Economic Development Office of the City of Subotica and the Youth Office, and this event was the first among the series of lectures to be held during September and October 2014. at the Open University Subotica.

The aim of the lectures is to present the development path of a successful entrepreneur to graduated young people, unemployed persons, pupils finishing secondary schools and interested citizens, and by that to raise awareness on entrepreneurship, which is the base of social progress.

The attendees had the opportunity to learn about the experiences of three successful companies – Patent Co. from Mišićevo, Suncokret Ltd. from Hajdukovo and PBM CHARGERS Ltd. from Bačka Topola. 

István Somogyi introduced the development concept of the company Patent Co. emphasizing the need for continuous education of young people and potentials in the field of agriculture, which can be utilized by young people.

Ivan Perčić, director of the company Suncokret Ltd. explained the evolution of this company emphasizing the importance of insisting on quality of the product and introduction on the foreign market.

The final presentation was held by the director of the PBM CHARGERS Ltd. Marko Predojević, who stressed the importance of motivation and persistence in entrepreneurship, as well as the complexity and significance of business negotiation and participation on international fairs.

After each presentation there was an opportunity for Q&A, which evolved into a quite direct interactive exchange of thought and experience.

The next cycle of practical lectures “Being entrepreneurial in Subotica” will be organized on next Thursday, 18.09.2014. at the Open University Subotica, when another 3 companies will present their business concepts.
