The rock documentary omnibus CROSSOVERS is the result of the project with the same title which was realized by the Open University Subotica and the NGO Film lovers “RARE” from Vinkovci within the IPA Cross-border Cooperation Programme Croatia-Serbia.

One of the objectives of the project was to promote documentaries through workshops on musical documentary films which were held during the 18th European Film Festival Palic. The participants of the workshop, young artists from the cross-border region, had the task to make short documentaries under the supervision of the mentors Uli M. Schuppel and David Klejiwegt about the bands that have been involved in the festival’s programme Young Spirits of Europe.

The result of the project is the omnibus of five documentaries about the following performers: Jarboli (cult alt-rock band from Belgrade formed in the ‘90s), Damo Suzuki (German musician with Japanese origin, started his career in the ‘70s, starting from the ‘90s tours around the world and performs with local musicians without previous arrangements), Mick Harvey (Australian multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer whose music appears in numerous films), Burnt Friedman & Jaki Liebezeit (German drummers uniting different styles not characteristic for Western European tradition) and Bilk (Croatian band using imaginative and electric expressions in drum’n’bass, dub, reggae, electro, rock…).
