On Monday, 1st December at 8 PM the premier of the play “Unwanted” will take place in the Children’s Theatre, which was created by the trainees of the acting workshop of Vladimir Grbic. In cooperation with the organization STAV Plus, the trainees of the acting workshop organized by the Open University Subotica dealt with the issue of fighting against HIV marking the World AIDS Day. The entrance is free.

This is primarily a play about fears… Fear from illness, fear from others and from different ones. People often feel threatened, this is why this emotion is in the tissue of each modern society.

The illness we are talking about is not only connected to HIV, but it is discussed in a wider social context. The illness of a modern society, which does not see what is going on at the moment, and which does not hear what the spirits of the past tell us.

When it comes to the space of the play - not a hospital, dark streets, prisons or striptease bars… They are evolving in offices, modern restaurants, fancy restaurants, in the warmth of a family home, which leads the whole situation to the absurd, but it totally corresponds to an absurd world which is only a couple of steps from our secure family scenario… but this is only a theatre play anyway.

The play UNWANTED speaks of people that our rejected by society, but due to its title, we as authors also take our stand, since who are really unwanted by society? It’s up to the audience to decide…

The play consists of cuts from films, theatre plays as well as from newspaper articles.
