The Free Zone Festival began its 2015 tour visiting over 40 cities in Serbia, and one of these cities is Subotica. In Subotica the films will be screened in the Eurocinema from 21st till 27th May at 5 PM, the entrance to each of these films will be free of charge.

The Salt of the Earth is one of the winners of the audience awards directed by Wim Wenders. The film was opening the 10th festival in the overcrowded Sava Centar, 20 000 days on Earth, a film by Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard, following Nick Cave through 20 000 days of his life. This film will be presented to audience all across Serbia. The film gives a surprising insight to artistic processes, deals with the question, who we are, what is the power of transformation given by creativity.

The audience will have the opportunity to see the last film of late Hany Abu-Assad, acknowledged Palestinian filmmaker, Omar – a tense thriller about treason, alleged and real life on the territories of Palestine.



The film Of Horses and Men is also on the programme of the festival, which a film by Benedikt Erlingsson. The film is a unique ode to the relation between humans and horses on Iceland. Another film to be seen is Hubert Sauper’s We come as friends, which gives an insight to the methods of modern colonialism.

A special part of the programme will deal with migrants, such as the film Timbuktu by Abderrahmane Sissako and LogBook Serbistan by Želimir Žilnik.
