From February 27th , Subotica will have another regular cinema theatre in the amphitheatre of the Open University. The cinema theatre named Eurocinema will mainly screen films from the European production as part of its programme, those awarded at he prestigious festivals, and it will cherish the tradition of authorial films with the objective to improve the preservation of contemporary culture in the City of Subotica, as well.

Aside from the regular cinema repertoire, the Eurocinema will continue to introduce the most significant productions from the history of cinematography within the programme European Film Classics, as well as, by presenting programmes of the most relevant film festivals from the country and the region.
The Ghost Writer, a new film by Roman Polanski, the famous director, which won the Silver Bear for Best Director last week at the Berlinale festival, is to be shown at the official opening of the cinema theatre. The screenings will be held daily at 8pm, and the cost-free non-competitive programmes will take place from 6pm. Tickets at the price of 150 dinars can be bought at the reception desk of the Open University, every day prior to the start of the screening, while the films from the European Film Classics series and the guest-appearances by the film festival programmes remain free of charge.
