Open Book
Over several decades of working on the improvement of the cultural life of the City of Subotica, the Open University in Subotica enlists the Open Book amongst its most successful projects, one that has gathered the most renowned names in domestic literature up to the disintegration of the former Republic of Yugoslavia. In terms of this, the public was introduced to Danilo Kiš, Slobodan Selenić, Borislav Pekić, Aleksandar Tišma and many other great names in literature from this region.
Led by the whish to once again attain the status of a leader in the cultural life of the City of Subotica, the Open University Subotica with its expertise and trust once again influences the establishment of value systems that depict the European civilisation, continuing with the series of presenting the most significant literary authors from these parts, within the Open Book programme.
The Open Books programme has been created on the basis of a choice made by Slobodan Vladušić, one of our most significant writers and literary critics and a winner of many national awards and recognitions.
