The goal of the project, implemented between December 2006 and September 2007, was improvement of the efficacy and competitiveness of firms, support to development of new products and services and their diversification with the aim of market expansion and reduction of unemployment in the region.

Over the ten months of project realization, Centre for Sustainable Development was formed, seminars and workshops to transfer knowledge and experience related to sustainable development were organized, trainings in the field of enrepreneurship and specific business practice based on principles of sustainable development were held (organic agriculture, organic production, agro-ecotourism, cooperatives), information and consulting services were provided for those who wanted to introduce sustainable development principles into their business, etc.

The leader of the project was Subotica Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (SMER), whereas TERRA’S Association, Subotica Open University and the Faculty of Economics in Subotica were partners.
